Pollinator Meadows

The chesapeake conservancy and the US Fish and wildlife service assisted the nrwc in the rehabilitation of an abandoned agricultural site. they tilled and seeded almost nine acres of pollinator meadows at our moore tract in 2018. pollinator species nationwide are under extreme pressure, so we are hoping this project will be a great help to local agricultural and home gardner interests. since installing these meadows, we have noticed quite an increase in the number and diversity of native pollinator plants at our site. These meadows should provide increasingly valuable habitat for our pollinators and be even more beautiful in coming years.

Donated Native Dogwoods

Picture
Thanks to east coast garden center for donating a native cornus florida dogwood. although most pink dogwoods are not native, this one is a cultivar of the native species. East Coast Garden Center will be donating a native white cornus florida dogwood to be planted in spring 2022. Look for these beautiful specimens at trail marker 10.
